Time Evolution of the Vertically Integrated Specific Humidity Distribution in Experiment S1570

Water vapor appears to be transported by disturbances that precipitate and migrate from the equator to high latitudes. In order to examine water vapor transport caused by the disturbances, the time evolution of the vertically integrated specific humidity in Experiment S1570 is presented below. The figure gives the impression that dry and moist air masses migrate from high and low latitudes, respectively, with the disturbances bringing precipitation.
