Measurement of Friction Coefficient on a Powder Layer and Fluid Dynamic Study

Basal state and powder clinging

Whether or not powder adheres to the base of disk depends on a basal state of the disk.

In our experiments, there are the following three types of basal state for the disk, and they are distinguished by symbols in this thesis.

However S and M are not distinguish in text because no difference was found between result using S and P.

Flour and starch clings onto the base of S or P but not onto M. Silica sand cling onto neither base type.

Appendix Table 1. Relation between the basal state of the disk and clinging of powder.
