This is
installed on top of the tank. A thin rubber membrane is attached
to the bottom of the doughnut-like acrylic cylinder partitioned into 16 rooms. Every other
room is connected with hoses attached to the cylinder. When air is pumped through these
hoses by the piston, the bottom membrane swells and shrinks
accordingly, and generates waves in the stratified salt water.
